Hi everyone! I love Shopkins and I’m pretty sure you do too or at least you will soon enough because Shopkins are the cutest things to come to the toy market in a long time. I recently got introduced to them by my daughter a while ago and fell in love with them right away. We usually go shopping together, it’s turned into a kind of like our time together because the boys never want to come with us. Now, along with grocery shopping, we now have collecting Shopkins that we can do together. It’s really something we can do to help build our relationship even more and that’s why I like these so much. Plus, they’re just so cute, they’re probably something I would have collected myself when I was younger, lol. So now we love collecting Shopkins, we buy, trade, and love ’em.
If you haven’t already heard about them, get ready for cuteness overload. Shopkins are miniature grocery items with cute little faces on each one of them. There are many different kinds and each one has their own personality and unique colors.
Each Shopkins has a name, a special hangouts and hobbies. Hey, with cute names like Cupcake Queen, Melonie Pips, Sunny-Screen, Papa Tomato, Kooky Cookie, Millie Shake, Buttercup, and D’lish Donut what isn’t there to like? And if you’re a health conscious parent, don’t worry about these Shopkins only promoting unhealthy foods because they actually have a fairly wide variety of food products (and beauty products). They have different categories of foods including:
- Fruits and Vegetables (ex. Rockin’ Broc, Strawberry Kiss, and Miss Mushy-Moo)
- Pantry (ex. Nutty Butter, Gran Jan, and Alpha Soup)
- Bakery (ex. Bread Head, Creamy Bun-Bun, and Mini Muffin)
- Sweet Treats (ex. Jelly B, Candy Kisses, and Miss Twist)
- Dairy (ex. Swiss Miss, Googy, and Spilt Milk)
- Party Food (ex. Crispy Chip, Frank Furter, and Soda Pops)
- Health & Beauty (ex. Lippy Lips, Shampy, and Polly Polish)
- Frozen (ex. Freezy Peazy, Fishtix, and Pa’ Pizza)
There are a number of seasons or series available and with each one there are over 140 characters with playsets and accessories. Each Shopkins is placed in a level of uniqueness. There’s Common, Rare, Ultra Rare, and Special Edition. Also, there are special finishes that are applied to the unique toys. You can get Glitter Shopkins, Frozen Shopkins, and Metallic Shopkins.
In 2015, the makers of Shopkins was awarded the prestigious “2015 Girl Toy of the Year” award, known as the oscars of the toy market. This toy was originally released in 2014 and by 2015 took over the toy market. With their gain in popularity in such a short amount of time, I’m pretty confident that they will be around for a very long time with more and more unique Shopkins to collect.
So… what are you waiting for… start collecting Shopkins and buy, trade & love ’em too!
